The USTA League Tennis program is the largest recreational tennis league in the world, with 325,000 participating men and women of all ages and abilities. The LCTA recognizes that team captains play a vital role in ensuring the continued success of our local league program.

ALERT:  Registration has begun for the 2010 fall season and closes on September 7th.  Super Senior registration is also underway and closes on August 22nd!  Finally, registration is also open for the Flex League season and ends August 29th.  For more information including days, nights and times of play for different levels, please visit our FALL and SUPER SENIOR and FLEX pages.

A CAPTAIN'S RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team captains are encouraged to be participating members of a local league team and should be familiar with the structure and procedures of the league, as well as the Rules of Tennis.  A captain's responsibilities include:

• Attend all local league meetings.

• Recruit enough players and alternates necessary to complete the season.

• Insure that all players meet eligibility requirements.

• Distribute all materials to team members including schedule of play, directions and a list of all team members and telephone numbers.

• Collect all fees associated with participation in the program.

• Make team members aware of all league regulations.

• Confirm home matches and contact opposing team captains to confirm date and time of match.

• Reschedule postponed or delayed matches in a timely manner and notify Coordinator (within 2 days) of dates of rescheduled matches.

• Report winning match results to TennisLink within 2 days following the match.

All players have access to TennisLink, the USTA’s online player registration system. TennisLink allows registered players to keep track of their records and stats, as well as scout their competition.  Captains have additional capabilities in TennisLink.
